People Have Inherent Value
Leadership creates the conditions for that value to grow, contribute, influence, and lead.
Leadership That Helps People and Organizations Succeed
The executive Servant leaders create and encourage the conditions for people to grow and succeed. As people become stronger, more capable, and prepared to lead, they build a culture of contribution, accountability, and shared success—strengthening the organization's capacity to achieve its purpose and sustain its success.
The Meaning of Value to Voice™
VALUE → VOICE
Recognize the inherent value within people and help that value grow until it can be expressed through contribution, judgment, responsibility, influence, and leadership.
VALUE THE VOICE
Give genuine weight to the ideas, experience, aspirations, concerns, challenges, and perspectives of the people entrusted to leadership. Voice is not merely the opportunity to speak. Voice has consequence.
Servant Leadership Is Disciplined Leadership
Servant leadership is not passive leadership. Leaders establish direction, clarify purpose, make decisions, set standards, allocate resources, protect the organization, hold people accountable, and accept responsibility for outcomes.
Servant leadership is relevant to leaders of every faith tradition or none. Faith may inform an individual leader's motivation and practice, but it is not a prerequisite.
